Why do an Intensive?

-You're eager for meaningful therapeutic work that can bring about life-altering changes.

-A deeply painful experience from your past still holds sway over your present.

-EMDR has proven helpful in your healing journey before, enhancing your overall well-being.

-You're seeking mental and emotional readiness for a major life event.

-Even with regular weekly therapy, you feel stagnant or sense a breakthrough waiting to happen.

Is an Intensive right for me?

– You have a specific issue to address and want to achieve results faster.

– Your schedule is too challenging to schedule a weekly therapy appointment.

– You don’t have access to a therapist in your area but are able to spend some dedicated time to travel and work in a more focused and concentrated way.

EMDR Intensives can help:

How does it work?

Before the EMDR Intensive begins, we conduct a Pre-Intensive Interview to clarify the goals for our time together. We assess your current life circumstances, including your support network, sources of stress, coping mechanisms, and areas where you seek relief, personal growth, or significant advancement so that we can customize your intensive therapy session.

Throughout the EMDR Intensive, our focus revolves around two main objectives: 1) alleviating the distress associated with past experiences, and 2) enhancing the positive aspects of your life. We achieve this through EMDR Reprocessing techniques alongside supportive activities such as guided meditation, grounding techniques, or artistic expression, all of which integrate the bilateral stimulation characteristic of EMDR.

Depending on your individual journey, we may delve into early life relationships, such as attachment patterns, or concentrate on future-oriented goals. This process is highly personalized and tailored to your specific needs. Following the EMDR Intensive, we engage in a Post-Intensive Interview to reflect on the most impactful aspects of the experience and discuss strategies for integrating these insights into your ongoing life.
